Meet Alivia Grace

Meet sweet Alivia. She came on board with us when she was just a little 4 Month old peanut. Watching her grow has been so fun, but I’m sure her Mama Kelsey would love to freeze time. This little fashionista has an adorable sense of style, her Mama always has her in some sort of bow, headband or accessory, even if its just a quick trip to Target. When our inbox is filled with emails from Kelsey, we are sure to get lots of pictures of this sweet babe! We adore you sweet girl and are so fortunate and blessed to have you on our team. If you want to go shopping today, head over to the shop and save 10% off with Alivia’s Shopping Code: CUPCAKE04.

Boutique Prep

BoutiquePrepIf I told you that preparing for a boutique was easy, I’d be lying.

If I told you that I contemplate boutiques every time they roll around, I’d be sharing my true honest feelings.

Boutiques are fun. I love all the amazing, talented and kind spirited handmade shop owners that I meet, mingle with and share giggles and belly laughs with. I wouldn’t change that part for the world. But behind every boutique/market comes, long hours, burnt fingers from glue guns, long nights, and racing thoughts. I often wonder, what in the world am I doing? I work full-time JOBS, I have a home that needs tending too, a boyfriend that needs my love and support, and so much more. In the end, I still love what I do and do it for reasons that are beyond explaining.

I’ve been prepping and preparing for this upcoming Penelope Lane Boutique for a few weeks now, I promised myself I wouldn’t procrastinate and be up until 2 a.m Friday/Saturday morning prepping the day of. I thought it would be fun to take a few snapshots from my phone of my late night and the fun behind the scenes of the boutique preparation.

{thread, fabric cutting, scissors, hot irons, piles of fabric that have taken over my life spare room, piles of fabric that deserve to be folded up nice and neat, a to-do cart, labels, tags, business cards,  a lamp that will only stay on the bed because I’ve used up all the ‘convenient’ outlets in the room, OH and a pooped out pup named LOLA who loves and supports her Mama)

I love my life and handmade business…

Happy Hump Day, and a Shop Update!

I never really got the whole “Hump Day,” I get that it’s Wednesday and it’s the middle of the week, but if you’re anything like me and work a bizallion hours and any day of the week or weekend, the hump is nothing but a thing on a camel’s back! Shoot!

Anyhow! I have FINALLY updated the shop, Hip Hip Hooray! It’s been months since I’ve made the effort to snap photo’s, upload and create new listings, but I finally had some time to do so!

hello monday

Another week gone! Sheesh where does time go? Hello Monday and goodbye to a crazy busy week of Queen Bee Market prep and show, Crafting, Cramming and Creating, new Etsy orders, Laundry, Housework and Veggin’ on the couch and hello to a new week, few days off and looking forward to eleVate this Saturday!

I have some exciting news! I received an email a few weeks ago from Tiffany, who owns the most adorable children’s boutique in Seal Beach, Rascals to Rebels. When I first opened the message I was on cloud 9. She had seen my booth at the Penelope Lane Boutique a few weekends prior and wanted to offer me a vendor slot in her upcoming Baby Shower Trunk Show. Rewind: I used to love shopping at the Rascals to Rebels in Huntington Beach, always found the most unique baby gifts, Fast forward: I moved to Rossmoor and the new shop is less than a mile from my house!

rebels_to_rascals_storeShe and I chatted yesterday and I’m a confirmed vendor, one of only 4 that will be showcasing our items in the upcoming Baby Shower Trunk Show on Saturday, May 18. I can’t believe I will be along side name brand vendors: Ju Ju Be diaper bags and Scrumptious Blankets.

r2rHere are a few items I will be featuring. I will have a small table set up in her adorable shop for customers to shop from or order from. If all goes well, Tiffany will be selling and featuring the lil’ cupcake items in her shop.

The-Shops-at-Rossmoor-logoI’ll keep you updated on the times as soon as I know. I’d love for you all to stop in and say hi! Thanks for all the love and support on my crazy creative journeys.
